SSC results on June 26
The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) will announce the SSC results on June 26 at 11 am. The results will be available on various websites, including the official website of the board www.msbshse.ac.in.
According to a press note issued by MSBSHSE, schools will receive the result sheets at the respective centres of concerned divisional boards. Mark sheets will be distributed to the students on the same day. “There will be no merit list but the specific awards given by the MSBSHSE will be declared,” said the press note.

This year 15,98,213 students appeared for the exam including 6,93,527 girls and 9,04,686 boys. Of this, 13,96,009 were freshers who appeared for exams based on the new syllabus, while 2,02,204 repeaters appeared for the old syllabus exams.

The board has declared that the last date to apply for the verification of marks is July 7. The last date to apply for the October 2008 exams is also July 7. “Those who do not pass the March 2008 exam will have a last chance to appear for the exams based on the old syllabus in October 2008. Even after that if they are unable to clear the exam, they have to appear for the exam in March 2009 based on the new syllabus,” said the press note.

Mumbai: The results to the Common Entrance Test (CET), held on January 20, for post-graduate medical courses were announced on Wednesday, thereby ending the terrible wait for 6,013 students competing for 350 seats.

The Bombay High Court had earlier ordered a stay on the declation of result after 27 students moved to the court complaining that they secured 20-40 marks less than their expectations in the 300-question test. They also claimed that complaints made to the Directorate of Medical Education and Research yielded no result. The High Court lifted the stay only on Wednesday.

Associate advocate general Ashutosh Kumbhakoni told the court that the state government had handed over the question papers to two independent institutions, conducting CETs for medical courses on All-India basis.

The names of such institutions were kept confidential. As things turned out, as many as 296 answers in the state's model answer sheet matched with those of the experts from both the institutes.

The government however invalidated two questions and granted two marks to all students without exception after the institutes stated that one question was "confusing" and they differed in their opinions over the other. Two other answers, found incorrect in the government's model answer sheet were corrected on the recommendations of the independent institutes and consequently all 6,013 papers were re-assessed.

MHT-CET 2008

1. INTRODUCTION
The entrance examination for the selection to all Health Science Courses, Engineering and
Pharmacy degree courses in the State of Maharashtra for the academic year 2008-09 shall be conducted by the Competent Authority appointed by Government of Maharashtra. The Selection Process shall however be separate for degree courses in Health Science, Engineering and Pharmacy. The seats in Health Science Courses are at all Government/Municipal Corporation and Government aided Health Science institutions. The respective Competent Authorities shall devise
the system of Counseling and Selection. This procedure shall be governed by the regulations and directions specified by the Govt. of Maharashtra from time to time.The merit list of MHT-CET-2008 will be utilized for the selection in Veterinary Colleges in Maharashtra.

SCHEME OF EXAMINATION
1 Date of Examination: The examination will be conducted at various centres in Maharashtra in between last week of april to the end of May.(Exact date not declared yet)
2Schedule & Test Design: The MHT-CET-2008 will consist of three question papers. Each
paper is of 100 marks.
Paper I :- Physics & Chemistry (50 marks each)
Paper II :- Biology (Botany & Zoology - 50 marks each)
Paper III:- Mathematics(100 Marks)

There is no choice among the questions, i.e. all questions have to be answered. The candidate desirous of selection to Health Science courses and BVSc & AH should appear for Paper I & Paper II. The candidate desirous of selection to Engineering degree courses should appear for Paper I and Paper III and the candidate desirous of selection to Pharmacy degree course should
appear for Paper I & Paper-II and/or Paper-III. Those Candidates appearing only for Paper I and Paper II will be provided with one single OMR answer sheet for both papers, those appearing only for Paper I and Paper III will be given separate OMR answer sheets with each question paper and those candidates appearing for all the three papers will be given one single
OMR answer sheet for Paper I & Paper II and a separate OMR answer sheet for Paper III. At the end of paper/session student will handover the OMR Answer sheet and Question booklet to the invigilator.

The candidate will be required to mark the correct answer by blackening the corresponding circle against the serial number of the question in the answer sheet with black ink ballpoint pen only. Out of four circles provided for selection of an answer against a question, the candidate should fill up one circle only. Each correct answer will be given mark/s. There shall
be no negative marking for wrong answers.

CHANGING AN ANSWER IS NOT ALLOWED: The candidates must fully satisfy
themselves about the accuracy of the answer before darkening the appropriate circle, as no change in the Answer once marked is allowed. The answer once marked is final, any change in the option once marked, done by any method, will amount to a invalid/incorrect response.
Scratching, overwriting, tick mark and multiple answers will be considered as wrong answers and no marks will be allotted to them.

Syllabus of Examination: Syllabi of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics for the MHT-CET-2008 will be the same as for the current year for HSC Examination of HSC Boards
of Maharashtra.

Time & duration of Examination: There will be three papers of one and half hours each.

Language of Question Paper:
The medium for examination shall be English or Marathi or Urdu, for Physics, Chemistry and Biology. However, Mathematics paper shall be in English
only. The option once exercised about the medium by the candidate shall be irrevocable.
